The Burton Dassett hills are not the Himalayas! They are hardly more than a collection of grassy slopes, but their position gives great views over the South Warwickshire countryside. This is the kind of rolling landscape that is often described as "Chocolate-Box" and is pretty much regarded as somewhat of a cliche.

The peace is somewhat spoiled by the M40 motorway which you can see in the middle distance, but there's no denying that its a great vista, and cliche or not it's what huge areas of the English landscape look like.

I try to get there once a year, and yesterday was a warm sunny day so I took the opportunity to put together some multi-shot stitched images using the Olympus E-PL1 and the 24mm and 50mm Nikon prime lenses.

I was very pleased with the results, but there's no doubt that its much more difficult working with manual focus lenses. I'm waiting for the Olympus 12mm f/2 and 45mm f/1.8 plus the Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 lenses to finally surface, which should make the whole picture-taking process on m4/3 less "fiddly" than it is with these MF lenses. Hopefully these new primes should be able to provide quality and convenience.

In the meantime the Olympus / Nikon combination provided sharp images with great colour.
