FUJI X-PRO 1 - Dpreview preview and an aperture clicking workaround



Dpreview preview, which is mostly positive.

They came up with an interesting workaround, which helps a couple of things. Its programming the function button to depth-of-field preview. This achieves two things I've discovered so far. Firstly by pressing this before getting the magnification screen up for manual focusing, it locks the aperture selected on the aperture ring of the lens, so that you can focus at the aperture that you want without the camera setting its own. Secondly this locks the aperture when just carrying the camera around, which means the annoying "rattlesnake effect" aperture blades clicking sound temporarily stops.

As soon as you touch anything like the shutter button, this lock gets released, but its a useful way of "shutting up" the lens. So in what now seems to be Fuji style, there is a crazy workaround that is a somewhat innapropriate solution to a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place.
