Above - A Nikon 135mm f2.8 manual focus lens fitted onto a 550D with me attempting to focus the lens while using the 7x magnification movie crop mode.

A day shooting with the 550D shooting video and stills (Being edited - coming soon) and 5D shooting stills, which was my attempt to re-bond with the camera. This was partially successful as after shooting with Leica and m4/3 for so long it did feel heavy. Particularly when climbing up an extremely muddy slope, and climbing down again due to the path disintegrating into a full-blown bog.

I used the camera on ISO400 for most of the day, which seems to give better results than ISO100, which I've always found slightly disappointing. Certainly noise etc. is non-existent at ISO400 and using it at the lower settings yields no particular advantage.

This was shot with a 28mm f1.8 lens

Three shot with an 85mm f1.8 lens.

Finally a few shot with a Nikon Manual focus 135mm f2.8 lens, which you can see fitted to the 550D at the top of the page. We were testing this lens for video as a 216mm f2.8 (35mm equivalent) and I decided to give it a try on the 5D. Very sharp results. Currently this is the longest lens that I have for the 5D.

Overall an enjoyable and useful day, though I was in bed asleep by 9:30PM!!
