Spent yesterday with the 550D and the 18-55mm kit zoom plus my 28-135mm IS full frame zoom. While not up to the standard of the primes used before, both performed well.
Once more I am impressed by the sharpness and colour of the 550D sensor. Top quality lenses give incredible quality on this camera, and in a way it seems a waste to use it with these zooms, which while providing very useful focal lengths, convenience, image stabilisation and a good performance overall, don't fully exploit the qualities of what I believe to be a remarkable sensor.
Now I've seen what it can do with my prime lenses, its difficult not to want to use them all the time.
